Thinking of Buying a home? Think Prefab! |

Why Prefab you say? Prefab housing has built-in advantages that mean lower risks in time and money over a home that is built piece-by-piece on the property site. Homes built in a factory include, mobile homes and modular homes. Does that mean that there is no quality or no value to prefab housing? Absolutely not. Building a home in an indoor environment wastes less time and materials than building out in the elements.
Another advantage to prefab homes is that you can select unique and individualistic designs that don't look like every other home on your street, where you have to check the house number to make sure you're at the right place.
According to Sam Grawe, editor in chief of Dwelling magazine, "prefab has shed it's trailer-trash" reputation. Buyers are now possibly looking to downsize, or minimize the way they live. Maybe they want to add an addition to their current property to be used as office space or an art studio. Maybe you want to go green or produce a more energy efficient home. Whatever the case prefab is a home option worth looking into.
Where can you find a prefab home? Believe it or not, you can purchase your home via the internet and have it delivered directly to your lot or land site. You can also purchase a basic home or add upgrades as you would to a regular home by working with the manufacturers to add additional bells and whistles.
Prefab homes aren't necessarily cheaper than a traditionally built home, you have to do your research but they can be just as affordable, just as well built and prefab has the lasting power of a traditional built home.
